Every time a woman falls victim to a gender-related offense, the printer whirls to life and prints her story.

Gender-related offenses occur far more often than most people think. Statistics rarely convey the human reality behind the numbers. This installation makes them tangible by generating names and stories. Those stories are fictional, but grounded in real research — both the frequency and the content are representative of what is happening today.

The numbers come solely from the Belgian Institute for the Equality of Women and Men (IGVM-IEFH) report Ervaringen van vrouwen en mannen met gendergerelateerd geweld in België — specifically the figures on p. 82 and p. 132.
