Uncensored is a participatory installation that confronts visitors with the hidden cost of everyday consumption. A press of a button prints a receipt. It doesn’t show the item price but the animal suffering caused. Living conditions, the manner of slaughter, their age, etc. The visitor then makes a choice: they cast the receipt into one of several vote boxes, each labeled with a different position — from acceptance to refusal, from doubt to a will to change.
As the installation runs, the accumulating stacks of paper become a visible, physical referendum.
This work is very much in progress - just some early-stage ideas and mockups.
